Soccerbug has returned. 5 days is a long time for this momma to be without one of my children. He had a fabulous time and did things he's never done before. There were fireworks and boat rides along with some tubing and fishing. What more could a a guy hope for? I know it sounds silly, but it was only 5 days and he looks older to me. Just like he'd been gone for a few months. It is strange, I know but the hubby agrees with me. I am sure he looks the same as when he left, but it took him being gone a few days for me to really SEE him. He is nearly 10 now and looks where before he still seemed so young to me. How does that happen?
Of course, he was home only a few minutes before he was downstairs with his siblings catching up and then I just barely got him to put his stuff away before he was heading over to play with his buddy next door. Clearly we missed him more than he missed us! I guess it should be that way, shouldn't it?
He is full of energy(or is he running on adrenaline?) and is wound up like a wild animal, but nothing that a good night's sleep can't fix. I am looking forward to the next few days hearing the tales of his adventures. He isn't a 'tell-it-all-right-now' kind of guy, but rather more like a 'let-it-come-up-in-conversation' guy. I am so glad he is home...
